8 Tips for a Solo Trip to Disneyland

Hey, Disney fans! Are you planning a solo trip to Disneyland? Well, you're in luck because I've got some tips to make your trip even more magical. If you’ve ever thought you might like to experience the magic just the way YOU want to- on your own time, riding exactly what you want- or not riding at all, eating two or even three churros if you so desire, consider a solo trip to Disney. You won’t regret it!

Tip number 1: Download the Disney Mobile App. This app is your trusty sidekick during your trip. It will help you navigate through the park with ease, you can check attraction wait times, find the nearest ATM, or even order food from your favorite eatery all at the touch of a button and skip the food lines entirely. Make sure you download it before your trip so you're familiar with it.

Tip number 2: Interact with Cast Members. They are the backbone to any Disney theme park and they're there to assist you. Ask them for directions, have a question about a show or attraction, or even where to find the best Disney desserts. And, why not make their day by engaging in a Pin trade, asking for a celebratory button, taking a photo with them or trying to stump them with Disney trivia. And if you find a Cast Member that truly gives you a magical experience or is extra helpful, be sure to leave them a great review at City Hall before leaving the park.

Tip number 3: Eating for One. This might be your chance to try different menu items that you normally wouldn't be able to because of your companions preferences. Eating alone means you can go for the more sophisticated meals such as the French Market Restaurant's Jambalaya or the Blue Bayou without any complaints. You can also eat as many Mickey treats or Dole Whips as you wish - guilt free!

Tip number 4: Find Single Rider Lines. The single rider lines are perfect when you're riding alone, it cuts your wait time immensely. Give it a try on popular attractions such as the Indiana Jones Adventure, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Incredicoaster or Radiator Springs Racers in California Adventure. You will most likely board your ride in 10 minutes or less! Giving you more time to…

Tip number 5: Experience Live Entertainment. While guests usually focus on the big entertainment shows like parades and fireworks, everywhere throughout the Resort, entertainers are singing, dancing, and drawing in guests with their enthusiastic show-stoppers. I once spent 2-3 hours just on Main Street watching all the live entertainment from the Dapper Dans barber shop quartet, to mini character shows, to the Parades. Take a break from the rides and explore some of the ongoing acts at Disneyland Resort, you'll be surprised at how much you'll enjoy them!

Tip number 6: Interact with Characters. One of the best things about Disneyland is getting to meet your favorite characters. Make sure you check the schedule for character meet and greets on the daily guide or on the Disneyland mobile app. And don't forget to bring your favorite Disney outfit and Disney shirt to take some awesome pictures with them! If you’re looking a truly unique t shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie that Mickey will surely love and you can’t find on every other park guest, visit PixiePopDesigns.com.

Tip number7: Explore Disneyland at Night. Disneyland is magical during the day, but it's even more magical at night. The park takes on a whole new life once the sun goes down with twinkling lights galore and a beautifully lit up castle, so make sure you stay until the end of the night to experience the evening parades and fireworks.

Tip number 8: Embrace the Disney Style. Disneyland is the perfect place to embrace your inner Disney fan. Dress up in your Disney outfit, wear your Disney shirt and don't be afraid to show your love for Disney. You'll be in good company and you never know, you might make a new Disney friend!

And that's it! Follow these tips and you'll have the best solo trip to Disneyland ever! Remember to have fun and keep an eye out for that special magical moment!
